Sicilian Diary
For those of you who don’t know me personally, my photography is an ongoing journey from abject grief to relearning how to live a tolerable and frequently wonderful life. Sicily is one of those places that makes me feel very alive again. From the friendly and open people to the varying architecture (Ancient Greek and Roman, Islamic, Byzantine and Baroque, to name a few) to the intentional and unintentional street art, Sicily gives me everything that I am looking for photographically.
Of particular interest are the outdoor religious statues– some of which appear in the most unlikely places. The hanging laundry everywhere never fails to please me. And the nights are just as interesting as the days.
